For the first time, our country will be experiencing its automated elections. Since this is the 1st time our country would be experiencing this, I’m sure a lot of voters don’t have an idea with regards to how to vote. Thos yellow old ballots won’t be useful anymore. Because it is automated, we would expect that the results would be known right away.
In our school, we get used to trimestral exams which is pure multiple choice. There would be a questionnaire sheet and a separate answer sheet. In the answer sheet is full of circles that we have to shade. Yup, it’s all shading and shading. And I think that will be the mechanics for the automated elections. You just have to shade the circle before the name of the candidate.
GMA released a voter’s education campaign yesterday. It is composed of a music video that explains everything for the 2010 elections. The music video is entitled “Bilog na Hugis Itlog”.
Words can’t be explained in the music video. Here, you can watch the music video. (Thanks to DCRJPinoyBiscuits02)
Our votes are powerful. This can change our system of government, as well as change for the better future. May magagawa tayo.
Blasphemous Bulletins December 7, 2009

I’m sure everyone whose using the net were able to experience this one. With social networking sites around, it is very easy for people to share information to the public and to the world. I still remember that Friendster is just about messaging, testimonials (comments rather), profiles and pictures. After quite some time, Friendster started to evolve due to the fame of their rival (Facebook), which progressed better than Friendster. To tell the truth, I don’t update my Friendster profile. Since Facebook came into the page, I abandoned Friendster and its foolishness
. My cousin keeps on updating her Friendster profile. Maybe it’s just in the matter of interest. I find Friendster a bit boring, even if Friendster had its fresh new look. Well, Facebook is up for apps and quizzes. Maybe that is their BIG difference. The only important feature for me is the shout out. After all, I can post messages like “Add me on Facebook, Plurk, Multiply” and other add-me posts.
Now I’ve talked about Friendster, I’m sure you would know those bulletins that can be found at the right part of the page. I almost laughed with one bulletin. I actually got this from a friend (and relative). I think someone chain mailed this to her and posted it…just for bulletin’s sake.
Dahil binuksan mo ito, mamamatay ang parents mo pag di mo ito nirepost within 3 minutes.
PUMILI NG ISANG TITLE SA BABA:
1. Buntis ako!
2. I’m getting married.
3. Tayo na ba?
4. Nililigawan ka na nga ayaw mo pa?
5. Mahal ko sya, Angal Ka?
6. Happy Monthsary babe!
7. Flight ko na bukas
8. May Putok ako!
9. Tae! nagmuka kang tao!
10. Break na nga tayo
First of all, who in the world would believe in this kind of chain mail/bulletin? It’s quite irritating because the word parents was involved. I think the person who made this was TOTALLY bored, that s/he can threaten his/her friends…just for boredom’s sake.
So what am I pointing at? Just be careful on what you’re posting. You should know if the people needs to know that certain information. But generally, you should know if you MUST post it. It is part of the Core Rules of Netiquette. Rule 4 states that we should respect other people’s time and bandwidth. With this kind of bulletin, I’m sure it can waste time reading it. After all, it’s not an important message.

A notebook is a tool that everyone can use. Your documents, files, music and pictures are stored in just one thing. Therefore we can say that purchasing a laptop would be an investment. Students (well…like me) can use their notebooks in order to do their homework. When we need to post a new blog, we would just turn on our computers and start writing. A lot of things can be done in the portable laptop. You can bring it anytime and anywhere. Portability is not a plus for office people who tend to travel abroad. They can do their things in the laptop with just a swing (like when you open the laptop itself) and a click of a button. With the notebook around, I’m sure life is easier than ever.
But what if your life turns into a burden of complaints and problems…all because of the notebook? That’s what happened to me.

I really love our country. Our country is filled with traditions with cultural backgrounds. Since we live in Antipolo, we get to celebrate the Higantes festival (Higantes, in english, giants). I was lucky that I am staying in my cousins’ (yup…more than 1 cousin
) house. My mother is in Bacolod and I stayed in my cousins’ house since I would be left in our house.

We were lucky that the higantes performed in front of our compound. The higantes were named after Filipino love teams who are popular in the showbiz industry.

The higantes perfomed in less than a minute. Once they are done performing, they would transfer into a different place to perform.

My uncle gave money to the person organizing the higantes performance. I think you can call it as abuloy.

This festivity happens every last week of November to 2nd week of December (in our place, it’s til the 8th of December, in commemoration of the Immaculate Conception.) So we can say it’s something we can wait during the Yuletide season.

I can’t wait to see them perform once again. Hope they would perform it in the song of Nobody.

Let’s just put it in this way. Like what I’ve said from my previous blog entry, I post a Christmas wish list every year. Since December has come to a close, I would be putting the Christmas feel by having a Christmas wish list. It would be the 1st time for me to post the wish list on the month of November. My last 2 entries (which are seen in my previous blog entry) were created in the month of October. After all, I just transferred in WordPress. Being busy is another factor, which caused this blog entry into a delay. So, let’s not delay it. Let’s get ready to rumble. Since this is kinda long, you would see more information when you click “more“. (more…)

We’ve seen him. He was on top of the newspaper headlines. His candidacy was asked, and waited for his answer. We’ve heard his announcements, and it seems to be final. And right now, he does it all. He goes and takes a step towards the official candidate for presidency. It’s no other than Mr. Noynoy Aquino.
Noynoy Aquino’s candidacy is being processed in COMELEC today. Noynoy and his running mate (Mar Roxas) filed for a Certificate of Candidacy (or CoC). Their family, friends and supporters are there as they would wait for the big announcement. Everyone is waiting for the confirmation of Noynoy’s official candidacy.
According to some surveys, there is a big chance for Noynoy to win in the upcoming 2010 Elections. After all, Noynoy has no reports regarding corruption and being a bad influence. With him being the top in the surveys, there is a big chance for our him to lead the country. If the people can change, then why not the nation? I’m sure Noynoy Aquino can do it.
A lot of people are expecting from him. I’m sure he won’t fail the people who expects a lot from him. Even if I can’t vote, I support the advocacy of Noynoy Aquino. Let’s drink to that!

Christmas is Near… November 27, 2009

The holidays are coming. I am so excited for Christmas. For we get to meet with the whole gang once again. I would really wish that our family would be complete. My father is there, and so our aunt and cousin in Australia, our Tito who is in Qatar, and most of all, our beloved Nanay.
This is our first time to celebrate the festive holiday without our Nanay. Every December, we get to visit the church mass every night (which is known as simbang gabi.). After simbang gabi, we buy puto-bungbong and bibingka and wait for the sun to rise. Every 8th of December, we celebrate the day of the Immaculate Conception. Usually our teacher visit our house (in my cousins’ house) and celebrate with us. We also get to decorate our big Christmas tree, filled with Christmas decorations. Every time I stare at the Christmas tree, it would remind me of how colorful and wonderful Christmas is.
It would be a sad Christmas for us. But then, we still have a reason to smile. I’m sure Lord is guiding them in the right direction. I’m sure they would be safe, for the Lord is beside them as well.
Speaking of holidays, part of my blogging culture is to create a Christmas wish list. It may seem childish, but the fun would be there. In my blogging years on Multiply, I was able to post 2 Christmas wish lists. You can check the first post here and the second one here. They were called The 12 Craves on Christmas. And guess what? The third issue of the 12 Craves will be posted here.
So watch out for that post. Watch out for the “Holiday Header” of my blog site. With this, my blog site can have the feeling of Christmas.
You can get some inspiration from this one. And right now, I’m telling this to all of you. Happy Holidays!

I wasn’t able to blog due to the things that I have to do. We had our second trimestral exam this week. Before the exams, I used my time studying and reviewing my previous lectures in my subjects. I was able to relax a bit due to my exemptions in Filipino and Environmental Science. Physics was bloody…and it will never change. The irony is that, our 2nd trim exam in Physics is way easier than the first trimester. Well, I have to admit that. But Physics will never run out of blood.
I think you’re getting crazy and you’re seeing the word PHYSICS in my blog entry. Yup, it’s Physics. When I was grade three, our science was divided into 5. I’m in third year high school as of this moment. And our science was divided into 4, instead of 5. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Environmental Science are branched out. Different fields of science are there, and so as different theories, chemical formulas and different anatomy. These subjects are supposed to be taken in College. Our school is giving us some preparations for our college days. Even the grade one students are studying different fields of science (but they have different science subjects). It may bleed your nose, or destroy your head. But in the end, you’ll see that it’s all worth it.
Why am I saying this?
You might wonder why I am explaining this. Well, there was this conversation that wiggled my mind. (more…)
A Reason to Smile November 22, 2009

Because of the tragedies that passed in our country, there won’t be a time for us to smile. Hence, it is hard to move on because we weren’t able to save a thing. We can get those material things right away with hard work and determination. But getting one’s life back? It’s hard to get it back.
Because of Ondoy, Pepeng, Ramil and Santi’s attack, I’m sure there are people whose properties were washed away. But the worst thing of all, their loved one’s lives were washed away. Despite of the tragedy, there is one reason to smile.
Christmas is a day for children. And for those children who were affected by the typhoon, they would have no idea on how to celebrate Christmas (like what I’ve said, due to the tragedies). Christmas happens once a year, so we get to celebrate it in the best way that we could. But how about the families who were affected and whose starting to move on? How are they going to celebrate Christmas?
Christmas celebration doesn’t need to be luxurious. A simple noche buena would be a big thing already. But Christmas is not about the gifts. It’s all about the love and care for the family, and the moment where Jesus is born.
A lot of us were facing our destiny. Who cares if a million typhoons will make their landfall in our country? For as long as we hold hands and cooperate with each other, we can surpass all of the obstacles destiny has for us.

Conserving the Water Conserves the Nature’s Beauty November 18, 2009

Our body is mostly composed of water. The ground is surrounded by the ocean water. Basically, we can say there is a big amount of water in this world. Look at it in a different way, and you will contradict my previous sentence.

First of all, water is used for drinking, taking a bath, washing the car, watering the plants, and a lot more than that. Once we used up that amount of water, it means we cannot use them anymore. After all, its waste water. We can say that water is everywhere. The presence of water everywhere does not mean we can use it. Who knows? It might be dirty. Of course, we cannot consume that water. After all, we need a fresh clean amount of water.
This one is very ironic when it comes to geographical features, but there will be a time that we won’t be able to consume a fresh and clean water. The water in the ocean can’t be used. So because of this, we might end up dying due to drought. So while things are early, we should start conserving water. (more…)
